Premierline races ahead with its fundraising
Posted on: 01 July 2014
Premierline is continuing its support for its local hospice, St. John’s. So far this year it has raised £3,725 for the charity, beating its fundraising total for 2013.
So far this year, Premierline has already beaten its last year’s fundraising total for local charity St. John’s Hospice. Through a series of prize draws, competitions and sponsored events, staff at Premierline have really committed more of their time and effort to supporting the charity.
Last month, 12 staff members formed a running team and joined 40,000 other runners at the Great Manchester Run to raise money for the hospice. The Great Manchester Run is Europe’s biggest 10k running event and attracted many local celebrities like Bill Turnbull, Denise Welch and Phil Neville to it’s starting line.
Several members of the Premierline team had never taken part in an official running event before, so nerves were running high on the morning of 18 May. But with temperatures reaching over 20°C, the event attracted huge crowds. This encouragement and the atmosphere spurred the team on to smash their target times. A cracking £1,150 was raised for this event alone.
As well as the Great Manchester Run, Premierline recently hosted a charity pub quiz night in Morecambe and raised over £400. Another £2,016 was raised when 28 members of the team walked 14k/25k at midnight during the St John’s Hospice Moonlight Walk.
Up next is ‘The Apprentice’ business challenge: 15 members of staff will be racing around Lancaster asking local retailers for donations for the Hospice, which they can use as prizes to raffle off at upcoming events. So watch this space!
“Our staff have shown great passion and commitment to our chosen charity this year. They are always coming up with innovative ideas to get everyone involved and help raise money. And thanks to this effort we have already exceeded the grand total we raised for St. John’s Hospice last year,” said Katie Aston, Senior Operations Manager at Premierline.
“The Hospice is extremely grateful for all the hard work and support that the staff at Premierline are putting into their fundraising efforts for St. John’s Hospice” said Anna Scott, Community Fundraiser at St John’s Hospice. “The company’s continued support means so much to St. John’s and whilst they may never meet the patients and families who their fundraising is helping, I do and on their behalf I would like to say a huge thank you.”
